Day #0 Juice Fast

Well, I made it about 24 hours, then I realized that there was too much temptation waiting for me in my kitchen. I had gone grocery shopping the evening before, with my daughter, so we had a lot of foods that I knew were going to be tempting me. After talking with my daughter about my goal to lose this weight and to help me from falling to temptation, I am postponing the juice fast for two days – until all of the bad stuff is out of the kitchen. I will not be replacing those products. My daughter has also agreed to preparing most of her meals as well. As a teen, this would be helpful for her to learn how to cook, and to not torture her dad by making him cook meals while fasting! 🙂

What I learned is that fasting needs a LOT of support from friends and family, and all temptations removed.

See you all on Monday, 16 APR 2012 to reboot – and begin the 60 day juice fast.

Considering Doing a Juice Fast

New Juice

So, I have seen a few documentaries, you-Tube videos, and various Internet articles all touting the real benefits of juice fasting. Some say do it for 10 days, others 30, and still some as long as 60+ days. Wow, that is a long time to not eat anything. The concept is that micro-nutrients as well as cellular autolysis will heal and detox your body, as well as let you drop a lot of weight. Well, I am always up for a challenge, so as of 12:00 am 14 April 2012, I am on a 60 day juice fast. Stay tuned for my day one post 🙂

Day #1 – In The Beginning

Date:     13 APR 2012
Weight: 403 lbs, 182.8 kg
Mood:   Mildly depressed.

Yes, it is I, your humble hero on a journey to loose over 200 pounds.

I currently tip the scales at a whopping 403 pounds and for my very life, I need to drop at least 200 pounds or more to be healthy again. So in essence, I need to drop a whole other fat guy off of me! This blog is not necessarily meant for public consumption, I really am writing it as a bit of mental catharsis and for record keeping. If I can inspire someone else to get healthy and loose weight in the process, then I will have succeeded in much more than I started out to do. I also want it to serve as a source of inspiration for others who think they are beyond help and hope because, right now, I totally feel that way.

So stay tuned as I exercise (waddle) and diet my way back to health, share my ups and downs, my opinions on diet and the life of a fat guy.
